Coessens Largillier

Coessens Largillier

Single-vineyard Pinot Noir Champagne Only

The soil in LARGILLIER is a combination of clay and limestone. It's a poor soil that provides little nourishment for the vines, but that in turn promotes excellent maturity in the grapes and gives them all the potential for truly great wines. The wines are the fruit of a single village, Ville-sur-Arce, a single vineyard called Largillier belonging to the Coessens family, of a single varietal: Pinot Noir, of a single vintage (except for our solera wines) and of a single 'Burgundy-style' philosophy. Only the oldest vines whose roots go deep into the soil are selected where they can absorb all the elements needed to produce grapes that truly encapsulate the unique character of the terroir
