Domaine de la Folie
The Fairy Tale in Rully
Located in Chagny in the north of the Côte Chalonnaise, the estate has 13 hectares of vines including the Rully 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques, one of the most prestigious names in the appellation. La folie means fanatic, or a luxurious playground in French, but legend says people saw some fairies dancing at night, and hence "la folia" in latin. Out of four clos, three of them are monopoles including Clos Saint-Jacques, Clos Bellecroix and Clos du Chaigne. They share almost the same terroir with Chassagne-Montrachet, just 5km away. Even better, with the invitation of Jérôme Noël-Bouton, Aubert de Villaine, the legendary winemaker of Domaine de la Romanee Conti, has been advising the young couple since 2010.
