Domaine Les Poëte
Guillaume Sorbe is the Loire valley's newest young star. In 2007, he began his Domaine in the Cher producing white, rosé, and red wines from the Touraine, Quincy, and Reuilly appellations.
Guillaume comes from a family of viticulturalists, but after his father sold the family vineyards in 2001, Guillaume decided to pursue winemaking himself. He studied viticulture and oenology in Beaune and then began looking for vineyards, eventually acquiring a plot of old gamay vines. He has slowly built up a tiny 7.5 hectare domain, which he farms biodynamically. Precision, freshness, and terroir are the focus, reflected in his motto "less but better".
Recently acclaimed by renowned critic Michel Bettane as a "future major world master of Sauvignon Blanc", Guillaume Sorbe is considered a rising star vigneron in the Loire.
