Nahe's Living Legend: Grand Cru Precision Since 1750

Weingut Dönnhoff stands as one of Germany's most revered estates, with the family farming the Nahe Valley for over 250 years. Under legendary winemaker Helmut Dönnhoff since 1966, and now fourth-generation Cornelius, the estate has earned international acclaim for Riesling of unparalleled elegance and mineral precision across 30 hectares, including monopole holdings in iconic Grand Cru sites like Oberhäuser Brücke and Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle.

Dönnhoff's winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention: grapes are hand-picked at peak ripeness and fermented with native yeasts in large neutral oak casks or stainless steel, preserving crystalline focus and terroir expression. Helmut's guiding principle—"you do as little as possible because every time you touch something you take something away"—defines their approach.
