Since 1808, the ancestors of François Michel de Lapierre have settled in Urville, and the estate has been in our family's hands ever since. Today, the head of the household, André de Lapierre, is still present every day, and the eighth generation, represented by Charline, Hugo, and Antoine, has joined this family that still takes pride in its independence. The de Lapierre family has been using a holistic zero-carbon footprint approach since 2017, through various actions: photovoltaic cellars, electric vehicles, sustainable packaging. The vineyard is the family's pride. It owns 60 hectares and has a contractual cooperation of 55 hectares. In the 1920s, after the aphid and the First World War, George, nicknamed "the father of Pinot Noir," planted a large number of selected Pinot Noir vines, known as Pinot Fin. The wines made from these grapes have unparalleled delicacy. Covering 70% of the area, Pinot Noir remains the top choice. The maintenance of the vineyard follows the principles of sustainable viticulture. 15 hectares are certified organic agriculture by ecocert.
