Product Description
Domaine Philippe Leclerc is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most fiercely individual estates, crafting Burgundy in the grand old tradition — long cool macerations, foot-treading of the cap three times daily, and ageing in 30–50% new French oak before bottling unfined and unfiltered. La Combe aux Moines, a premier cru whose history dates back to 7th-century Benedictine monks, earned 16/20 from Jancis Robinson, who praised its "very pure raspberry fruit and seamless tannins with violet florality" — a testament to Philippe Leclerc's unwavering, terroir-first philosophy.
The 2019 pours a deep, brooding ruby with an expressive nose of wild berry, leather, black currant, and smoke, leading to a powerful, structured palate with firm tannins, excellent concentration, and a long, classic Gevrey-Chambertin finish.
