Awarded 93 points by Guía Peñín, Gratavinum's GV5 2021 is a benchmark expression of Priorat at its most compelling. Crafted from 95% old-vine Carignan and 5% Grenache, biodynamically farmed on terraced Llicorella slate and quartz soils in Gratallops.
Hand-harvested and cold macerated for 7 days, then fermented and aged 14 months in 400-litre French and Hungarian oak. Expect an inky, intense ruby with aromas of black fruit jam, baked plums, and graphite, leading to a powerful yet velvety palate with sweet tannins, lively acidity, and a remarkably long finish. Pair with game, stew, or cured meats. Drink through 2032.
