Lointier

Grower Champagne Aged in Amphora & Old Oak

Champagne Lointier is a small, artisanal grower-producer (RM) estate founded in 2016 by Jean-Baptiste Lointier and his wife Hélène. The domaine is located in the Vallée de la Marne, with vineyards in Brasles and Gland, and its heart in Crézancy. The estate manages 3.5 hectares of vines on south-facing slopes with a unique soil composition of sand, clay, and limestone that is rich in minerals. Their farming philosophy is rooted in nature, having started the organic certification process in 2019 and following sustainable practices.

True to their passion for nature and beekeeping (the name Mellifera means "honey-bearing"), the wines are made with minimal intervention. The approach includes no fining, no filtration, spontaneous fermentation in old oak barrels and amphorae, with minimal sulfur and a low dosage (Extra Brut) to preserve purity and energy. With an annual production of around 4,000 bottles, the cuvées include the Pinot Noir-dominant Mellifera, the 100% Pinot Noir Negra, and the 100% Meunier Causica (also available as a Rosé de Saignée). The result is a range of expressive, mineral-driven Champagnes that are highly sought after by purists.
