100% Chardonnay from a 3.256-hectare Kimmeridgian plot bordered by Vaudésir and Les Clos, this Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru ferments naturally in stainless steel with both alcoholic and malolactic conversion occurring spontaneously, then ages 8 to 10 months before bottling — a precise, non-interventionist approach that lets the terroir speak clearly.
Allen Meadows (Burghound) found "cool if ripe and vaguely exotic aromas" of pear liqueur, green fruit, spice and seashore notes, with "almost painful intensity" building to a chalky, compact finish — "very much a classic Valmur."
