96 pts (Wine Advocate) - Guyon's Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru En Orveaux is Burgundy at its most ethereal. Situated above the Echézeaux Grand Cru, this is Jean-Pierre's coolest site - harvest pushed back up to a week later than his other cuvées, allowing a uniquely lifted, floral character to emerge. Organically farmed since 2012, with whole-cluster fermentation and 12 months in French oak.
The nose explodes with fresh roses, violets, cherries, nutmeg and resinous spice. The palate is velvety and sensual - silky fine-grained tannins, a salivating thread of red fruit, lilac, lavender and a sapid, herbal precision on the finish. A must-have Pinot Noir.
