The 173ème Édition was shaped by the rain-soaked, difficult 2017 harvest and carries 44% Pinot Noir. Krug Grande Cuvée 174ème Édition turns to a sunny, generous 2018 with few challenges, and its 54% Pinot Noir is the highest share in the last twelve editions. In this champagne, 143 wines from 10 vintages back to 2001 come together, with 36% reserve wines, up from 31% in the 173ème.
Antonio Galloni of Vinous awards it 96 points: "Dense and explosive in the glass, the 174ème Édition possesses tremendous textural depth right out of the gate. Baked apple tart, chamomile, dried flowers and tangerine peel literally stain the palate. The purity of the fruit is exquisite."
