Racines is a partnership between Burgundy's Étienne de Montille and Champagne grower Rodolphe Péters, working in the Sta. Rita Hills, where marine soils, fog and cold Pacific breezes shape the climate. Racines Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay 2023 is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, with minimal lees stirring.
Wine Enthusiast awards it 91 points: "Crisp and cleanly focused, this bottling offers tightly wound aromas of lemon peel and chalk. The palate follows suit with sharp citrus drive and mineral tension."
