Bleasdale's flagship wine is named for the mulberry trees growing along the River Bremer, a tributary running through the vineyards. At Bleasdale, the winemaking philosophy is to let the region naturally express its unique qualities, resulting in powerful yet balanced wines. A prime example is the Mulberry Tree Cabernet, known for its elegance and captivating depth of flavor. This philosophy was validated when Senior Winemaker Paul Hotker was named James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year in 2018. The 2019 vintage of Mulberry Tree Cabernet scored 95 points from Halliday and was listed among the 100 best wines of 2021.This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon features intense aromas of mixed berries, woody herbs, dark chocolate, and violets. The palate is smooth and persistent, with flavors of blackcurrant and spicy oak, finishing with soft and subtle tannins.
