Product Description
La Massa Rosso “Carla 6” 2012 is a single-vineyard Tuscan red from plot No. 6 in Panzano’s Conca d’Oro, expressing pure Sangiovese with precision and depth from grey schist and sandy soils in central Italy’s Chianti heartland. Crafted to highlight terroir, this limited-release Rosso balances richness, tension, and elegant complexity for discerning buyers.
Tasting
Expect vibrant red cherry, wild strawberry, and blood orange layered with violet, graphite, and sweet spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fine, chalk-dusted tannins, lively acidity, and a long, savory finish of sour cherry, cedar, and herbs. Drink now after a brief decant or cellar 5–10 more years for added tertiary nuance.
Vinification
100% Sangiovese from “Carla 6” parcel; meticulous hand-harvesting and sorting; gravity-fed fermentation in stainless steel; gentle extraction; maturation in fine-grained French barriques to polish texture while preserving fruit purity and site transparency.
Vineyard & Background
Founded by Giampaolo Motta, La Massa champions a rigorously selective, terroir-first approach in Panzano. The “Carla 6” bottling honors the estate’s highest Sangiovese standards, marrying Tuscan identity with refined, modern precision.
