Product Description
The flagship red from Diego Magaña's acclaimed Bierzo project. This cuvée is crafted from a selection of parcels across the villages of Valtuille and Otero, sourced from vines averaging over 80 years of age.
A Mencía-based field blend, the wine incorporates Bastardo and Garnacha Tintorera for added complexity. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in used 500-liter barrels and large oak foudres preserve the purity of fruit and allow the diverse terroirs—clay, slate, and granite—to shine through.
The 2024 vintage delivers a highly floral expression with violets and red fruits, balanced by a fresh palate and fine-grained tannins.Previous vintages have earned 94-95 points from Wine Advocate and Vinous, cementing its status among Bierzo's finest.
Hand-harvested, unfiltered, and crafted with minimal intervention, this is an elegant, terroir-driven red. Decant to unlock its full aromatic lift and mineral complexity.A benchmark for modern Spanish winemaking.
