Product Description
Anza La Canoca 2024, from Diego Magaña's Rioja Alavesa project, is a Tempranillo-led blend from the San Vicente de la Sonsierra zone, one of six single-site 2024s the producer describes as aiming squarely at the region's great age-worthy reds. Fruit comes from old bushvines on limestone soil, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeast and raised with minimal intervention, no fining and low sulfites.
Magaña's own tasting describes the wine as refined, fresh and enveloping, built with the depth and structure to reward cellaring alongside the top Rioja wines of the Sonsierra. Its precise, low-intervention style favors purity of fruit and terroir transparency over overt oak or extraction.
- Style: Refined, structured, age-worthy red
- Tasting notes: Ripe dark fruit, limestone minerality, fine tannin, floral lift, fresh acidity
