Product Description
Thomas Morey Les Grèves 2022 comes from Beaune's largest and most prestigious Premier Cru—a 31-hectare site where vines have thrived since Roman times. The Thomas Morey family has cultivated this exceptional plot since 1969, blending fruit from parcels planted in 1976 and 1988 across varied soils from sandy at the base to skeletal gravel at higher elevations.
Artisanal Burgundy Craftsmanship
The Pinot Noir undergoes largely destemmed fermentation with indigenous yeasts in a sophisticated combination of neutral barrels and tanks. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally without intervention, with only 20% new oak to support rather than dominate the wine. Thomas Morey's minimalist approach to sulfur—never exceeding 35 mg/liter—allows maximum terroir transparency.
Silken Structure & Depth
Jasper Morris MW awarded 92 points for this exceptional vintage. The wine presents medium translucent ruby red color, revealing dark raspberries and cherries counterpointed by mineral stone components. Aromas of red fruits, floral notes, spices, and subtle smokiness lead to a palate that's juicy, crunchy, and fresh. The wine displays cherry compote, spice, and limestone finesse with silky texture, polished tannins, and remarkable length.
