Thomas Morey

Thomas Morey stands among Burgundy's most exciting emerging talents, representing the tenth generation of the legendary Morey family in Chassagne-Montrachet since 1643. After establishing his own domaine in 2007, Thomas farms 13 hectares organically across 57 parcels in seven prestigious villages, including holdings in Chassagne, Puligny, Beaune, and Pommard.

As first cousin to Caroline of the acclaimed Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (PYCM), Thomas shares the family's meticulous approach but pursues his own distinctive style—crafting racy, fine-boned wines emphasizing precision and terroir definition over weight. His reputation is so sterling that Domaine de la Romanée-Conti employs him to manage their Le Montrachet Grand Cru vines.

Thomas employs minimal intervention: extended barrel aging with just 15% new oak maximum, prolonged vat maturation, and bottling without fining or filtration. Critics praise his elegant premier crus, particularly the ethereal Bâtard-Montrachet and refined Chassagne whites, as textbook examples of world-class Burgundy from one of the region's most talented vignerons.
