Thomas Morey Les Castets Saint-Aubin Premier Cru 2022 comes from a winemaker representing the tenth generation of Moreys in Chassagne-Montrachet, a family legacy dating back to 1643. The cousin of Caroline Morey (of acclaimed Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey), Thomas Morey launched his own domaine in 2007 after 12 years at his father Bernard's estate, quickly gaining recognition for unadulterated, crystal-clear wines from organically certified vineyards.

Premier Cru Precision

Les Castets is a southeast-facing Premier Cru plot at the west end of Saint-Aubin, planted in 2006 on steep white clay soils that provide excellent insulation. The Chardonnay ferments spontaneously in barrel with minimal sulfur, aging 12-18 months on lees with moderate 20% new oak, preserving delicate terroir expression.

Exceptional Quality

The wine presents a complex and expressive aroma featuring notes of citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, along with hints of white flowers and toasted hazelnut. On the palate, it stands out for its lively freshness and silky texture, accompanied by a precise minerality that gives it beautiful complexity. The style is buttery and complex, with white-fleshed fruits, cream, vanilla, and a harmonious balance.
