Jorge Ordóñez sources this toro red from ungrafted, 1900-planted Tempranillo vines in Finca Los Quemados, hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously before 20-22 months aging in new French oak.
Vinous calls it "a gorgeous array of cassis and darker berry fruits...rich, powerful yet light on its feet." Wine Enthusiast notes "sturdy tannins support black cherry, purple plum, licorice, lavender, dark chocolate and orange zest," closing on a pomegranate and rose petal finish - a mineral-driven, elegant expression of Spain's oldest Tempranillo clone.
