Product Description
A native Montalcino family since the 1970s, Cortonesi has spent decades honouring the purity of Sangiovese at their La Mannella estate. The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino earns 93 points from James Suckling — praised as "extremely refined, with round, fine tannins showing tension and balance" — a testament to winemaker Tommaso Cortonesi's deft touch, fermenting 100% Sangiovese with shortened maceration and 40 months in oak to harness the vintage's natural richness without sacrifice of finesse.
Admired for its creamy texture and outstanding depth, this Brunello di Montalcino delivers dark cherry, plum, and blackcurrant on the nose, giving way to licorice, dried spice, cedar, and velvety tannins. A savoury, grippy finish promises excellent ageing potential through 2042.
