Founded in 2001, Poggio al Tesoro blends 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc for Sondraia — aged 22 months in French oak barriques for lush depth and structure. Scoring 95 points from Wine Advocate and 92 from James Suckling, and awarded Gambero Rosso's prestigious 3 Bicchieri, this flagship Bolgheri wine is praised as "one of the best buys in Bolgheri" by Decanter.
The nose opens with blackcurrant, cinnamon, and spice. The palate is plush and full — dark plum, rosemary, velvety tannins, and a long, eucalyptus-tinged finish.
