This wine embodies both the unique terroir of Radda and the core philosophy guiding our work as winemakers: sustainable development. Crafted primarily from Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes, each vineyard is harvested individually, taking into account the aspect and age of the vines, which range from 7 to 30 years old. The estate’s distinctive location—nestled on breezy, east to southeast-facing hillsides at an average altitude of 400 meters, with steep slopes—combined with the soil’s geological characteristics (sandy-chalky with a medium-depth, stony structure), fosters the production of exceptionally healthy, concentrated grapes in limited yields.
Chianti Classico Val delle Corti captures the quintessential qualities of a “classic” Chianti Classico in the truest sense: a nose of fresh, harmonious fruit—black cherries, wild berries, violets, and juniper—a vibrant ruby-red color, a well-concentrated texture, lively acidity, and, above all, an elegant and utterly delightful flavor. It represents Sangiovese grapes from Chianti at their finest. Additional years of bottle aging further enhance the wine’s maturity. Serve at a moderate 16°-18°C.
The growing season featured a hot, dry summer, but heavy rains arrived just as harvest began, causing significant concern. The harvest was challenging, requiring multiple rounds of meticulous selection. Thanks to experience and a touch of luck, we were able to fully ripen the best grapes. The result was beautiful, healthy fruit with thick skins and reduced juice content.
This is a wine of remarkable elegance. It displays a lively ruby-red hue and an aromatic bouquet of blood orange, wild blackberry, cardamom, and a subtle hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, it offers vibrant freshness, with structured tannins and a juicy, fruit-driven profile that finishes with a savory, mouthwatering sensation.
