Product Description
"Les Nosroyes" translates to walnuts in French. Walnut trees flourish in limestone-rich soils, sharing a kinship with vines in their sensitivity to moisture. The Genot-Boulanger plot, spanning 1.13 hectares, graces the mid-slope just north of the village. Nestled just below the Puligny-Montrachet premier cru "Les Perrières," this location imparts unique qualities to the vineyard.
The Chardonnays at Genot-Boulanger undergo a meticulous process, beginning with whole-cluster pressing. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation unfolds gracefully in barrels, courtesy of native yeasts, without the intervention of batonnage. Approximately 20-30% of new barrels are introduced into the process. Following a 12-month maturation period, the wine is judiciously racked and spends an additional six months aging in stainless steel before finding its way into the bottle. This patient and precise vinification approach contributes to the creation of a wine that truly reflects the essence of "Les Nosroyes."
