Product Description
Dog Point Pinot Noir 2020 showcases why Dog Point is celebrated not just for Sauvignon Blanc, but also for crafting one of New Zealand's finest Pinot Noirs. From certified organic clay hillside vineyards with six clones planted since 1983, this wine represents world-class quality from one of Marlborough's oldest privately owned estates.
Low-Intervention Winemaking
Hand-picked fruit undergoes indigenous yeast fermentation (70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch) in small open-top fermenters over three weeks, then ages 18 months in French oak (30% new) before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
93 Points & Elegant Complexity
Wine Spectator awarded 93 points, praising "wild strawberries, spiced cherries, hazelnuts, thyme, nutmeg—sleek tannins with creamy texture, silky, sophisticated with wonderful depth". Deep ruby in color, the wine reveals dark plum, baking spices, violets, and rose petals. The palate delivers bright red berries, opulent dark fruit, fine velvet texture, and judicious oak framing, with cleansing acidity and fine-grained tannins characteristic of Southern Valleys clay soils.
