Les Greves is ideally situated in the central part of Beaune's midslope. The name of this lieu-dit not only reflects the gravelly composition of the soil but may also be associated with the term "graves," emphasizing the profound nature of the rocks present in the earth. The plot owned by Genot-Boulanger was strategically planted in stages between the 1960s and 1980, encompassing an area of 1.04 hectares. Positioned midway up the slope, it experiences the steepest gradient, contributing to the unique characteristics of the terroir.
