Product Description
Anza Carramonte 2024, from Diego Magaña's Rioja project, is a Tempranillo-led field blend with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, rounded out by a notable 10–12% of the white varieties Viura and Malvasía Riojana. Sourced from 75-to-90-year-old bushvines in pure limestone worked by horse, it ferments with indigenous yeast in open-top wood vats before a year in used 500L barrels.
Mussel shells, oysters, white pepper, chalk and black cherry define the nose, with crushed blueberries and cherries rounded by abundant, chalky tannins. Fragrant violet, sage and paprika notes add lift, echoed by a mineral streak through the finish. This is Magaña's most precise expression of Rioja, built around Tempranillo from the estate's oldest limestone parcels.
