Gaja's Pieve Santa Restituta has crafted Brunello di Montalcino on the site of a 4th-century church since 2005, fermenting Sangiovese separately from each vineyard before 24 months in oak and six months in concrete. Awarded 97 points from Wine Advocate in a vintage Antonio Galloni calls "the one we've all been waiting for," this Gaja Brunello di Montalcino opens with wild rose, cherry, thyme, and pine resin.
The palate is structured yet enveloping — ripe dark fruit, sweet tannins, balsamic depth, and a long, complex finish.
