Hartford Court Far Coast Vineyard Chardonnay 2017 hails from a mountain-ridge site north of Fort Ross at 700 feet elevation on the West Sonoma Coast, a cooler, more maritime-influenced counterpart to Russian River Valley. It's 100% Chardonnay, barrel-fermented and matured for 14 months in new French oak.
Citrus and mineral notions build in layers on the medium-bodied palate, with zip and zing carrying through to a finish marked by enticing tropical fruit. Orange zest, yellow apple, dried fruit and spice round out the aromatics, backed by a long, textural close of minerals and gravel.
