Markus Molitor's Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese*** Goldene Kapsel 2022 comes from steep blue-slate terraces on the Mosel's iconic sundial vineyard. Grapes are hand-selected berry by berry, then fermented spontaneously and aged in traditional oak casks—an estate hallmark since 1984.
Stephan Reinhardt of Wine Advocate finds a "pure, intense nose of concentrated fruits," with lemon, grapefruit and crushed slate. Round, lush and generous on the palate, this Auslese is richly textured yet delicately balanced, closing with a savory, saline finish.
