Distinctive Winemaking

Planted in 1994 on north-facing red volcanic soil with limestone base and deep-set sandstone, the vineyard yields naturally balanced, low-yield fruit. The winemaking process includes 20% whole bunches and co-fermentation with 2-4% Viognier—a technique perfected by Gary Farr during his vintages in France's Rhône Valley. Natural fermentation and 18 months in 20% new French oak create remarkable depth.

Refined Expression

Expect a powerful nose with pepper, mineral elements, and earthy complexity.
