Domaine de la Commaraine, a historic Clos of 3.63 hectares, has roots dating back to the 12th century in Burgundian winemaking. Renowned worldwide for centuries, it was favored by American President Thomas Jefferson during his 1787 visit. Acquired in 2017 by Denise Dupré and Mark Nunelly, the estate aims to restore its former glory as one of the great Premiers Crus of the Côte de Beaune.
The walled vineyard is ideal for organic and biodynamic farming, with Pedro Parra dividing it into eight sub-plots based on geological lines for separate farming and vinification. With this exceptional heritage, Domaine de la Commaraine is set to shine once again in Burgundy's wine domain.
