Blank Canvas Escaroth 2021 is a powerhouse from dry-farmed, ultra-low-yielding vines (3.3 t/ha) in Taylor Pass, Marlborough, earning 96 points from Cameron Douglas MS and 95 points from Bob Campbell MW. This exceptional wine showcases a beguiling bouquet of peony, violets, red cherry, and pomegranate layered with smoky, earthy savouriness and dried clay minerality. With only 223 cases produced, this wine balances concentrated red berry fruit—mangosteen, plum, cherry—with fine dried herbs, baking spices, and a light leather quality.
Artisan Winemaking & Structure
Crafted with 50% whole-bunch fermentation, hand-plunged gently, and aged 12 months in 25% new French oak. The palate delivers velvety tannins, bright acidity, and incredible mineral salinity.
