Markus Molitor's Einstern* Pinot Noir 2020 comes from classic Mosel slate slopes, an entry point into the estate's celebrated German red wine program. Spontaneous fermentation on the skins for roughly three-and-a-half weeks, followed by oak ageing, builds structure without sacrificing freshness.
Wine Advocate's Stephan Reinhardt describes an "elegant, slightly toasty and slatey bouquet of ripe cherries," full-bodied and persistent, with fine, spicy tannins and a powerful finish. Juicy dark cherry, redcurrant and subtle cocoa round out this precise, burgundy-styled Pinot Noir.
