Family-owned Shafer has farmed stags leap volcanic hillside soils since 1972; One Point Five blends 92% Cabernet Sauvignon with Petite Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec, aged 22 months in French oak for structure and complexity. Scoring 95 points from Wine Enthusiast and 93 from Wine Advocate, this Shafer icon opens with black cherry, crème de cassis, lavender, and aromatic herbs.
The palate is full-bodied and velvety — dark plum, cedar, and espresso, with perfectly integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. Drink 2027–2040.
