Capannelle
Tucked away in the Chianti hills above Gaiole, Capannelle's winemaking heart beats three meters below the surface in a vast 1,000-square-meter cellar. Here, the wines' character is shaped by carefully chosen French barriques and Slavonian oak casks, while contemporary stainless steel fermentation vats maintain the fruit's unadulterated expression.
The Tuscan wines produced by the vineyard are aged patiently. Premium wines like Solare, 50&50, and Chardonnay benefit from up to three years in oak barrels, while Sangiovese develops complexity during eight to ten years of bottle maturation in temperature-controlled circumstances.
Capannelle recently launched updated packaging for its Rosato Toscana IGT, Chianti Classico Riserva, Chardonnay, and Solare wines, ushering in a new era after forty years. The copper-labeled 50&50 keeps its original style as a tribute to the estate's history, but the redesign by famed designer Massimo Vignelli adds vintage-specific colors in the unique "Golia" bottle shape.
Modern technology and ancient Tuscan winemaking customs come together at Capannelle to produce wines that embrace modern elegance while faithfully expressing their Italian heritage.
