貝雪維爾城堡
Château Beychevelle is a prestigious Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru) estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. Acquired by the Duc d'Épernon, a powerful French admiral, legend says that passing ships would lower their sails ("baisse-voile") in respect, which inspired the name "Beychevelle." The vineyard spans 90 hectares, with soils of gravel, sand, and clay over deep limestone, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon. The fermentation is conducted in stainless steel and concrete vats with temperature control, and aging occurs in French oak barrels (50–60% new oak) for 16–18 months.
