Clos Thierrière: The Silex Awakening
Founded in 2021 by brothers Baptiste and Guillaume Frey, Clos Thierrière is a high-potential project that has rapidly become the "one to watch" in the Loire Valley. Despite its youth, the estate is built upon a foundation of ancient history, farming prized parcels with vines ranging from 30 to 100 years old.
The Frey brothers have dedicated themselves to a terroir-first vision, focusing on the electric, smoky energy of Silex (flint) soils. By employing organic practices and minimal intervention, they produce Chenin Blanc with a level of precision and "gunflint" minerality that is typically reserved for the region’s most established icons.
