Founded in 1846 by brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, Devaux Champagne has deep roots in the Côte des Bars, Aube. After generations of family stewardship, the brand was eventually entrusted to the Union Auboise (now Groupe Vinicole Champagne Devaux) when the last family member had no heirs. Situated closer to Chablis than to Champagne, the Côte des Bars is renowned for its Pinot Noir and shares similar Kimmeridgian and Portlandian limestone soils with Chablis. This terroir imparts a vibrant acidity to the wines, complemented by slightly riper fruit due to the region’s southerly location.
