The name “Sables Verts”, meaning “green sand,” is derived from the unique greenish sand found in the finest vineyards of Saumur-Champigny. This distinctive soil composition, featuring varying amounts of Clay-Limestone and Limestone-Silica, overlays the Mother rock of limestone tuffeaux, which is prevalent throughout the region.

Domaine des Sables Verts is an exciting new venture led by the dynamic duo, Caroline Meurée and her husband, Hervé Maligne. Taking the reins of a vast estate spanning 16.5 hectares and encompassing 33 different plots across 5 villages, Domaine des Sables Verts shares its neighborhood with esteemed wineries such as Clos Rougeard and Thierry Germain, further accentuating the pedigree of their wines.
