This wine benefits from the vineyard's diverse soils – 20-50cm of stony earth with Comblanchien limestone fragments in the east, transitioning to reddish-brown crinoidal limestone soils in the west – which impart distinctive minerality and structure. This wine's unique geological foundation, shaped by an underlying fault line where compact Comblanchien limestone meets crinoidal limestone, contributes to its renowned complexity and elegance.
