The Hidden Winery in a Pine Forest
Finca Villacreces, hailed as one of the best-kept secrets of Ribera del Duero, is located next to the world-famous winery Vega Sicilia and on the same land where Pingus is produced. Since 2003, the Anton family has operated the winery, with wines crafted by winemaker Angél Ortega, characterized by their depth, richness, and concentration. 75% of the vineyard is planted with Tempranillo (most of which is on sandy soil, adding an attractive meatiness to the wine), 15% with Merlot, and 10% with Cabernet Sauvignon (most of which is on quartz and pebbles, imparting more mineral complexity).
