Sangiovese makes up 95% of Jonata La Tierra de Jonata 2010, with 5% Syrah completing this red blend. Maturation took place in 350- and 500-litre French oak barrels, 30% new, rather than exclusively in smaller barriques.
Awarding it 92 points, Antonio Galloni of Vinous writes: “Black cherries, menthol incense and licorice all burst from the glass, followed by a kick of Sangiovese acidity and tannin.” His review highlights the wine’s power and depth, with Syrah adding roundness through the middle of the palate.
