La Rioja Alta, S.A. is one of the most prestigious and traditional wineries in Spain’s Rioja region, renowned for producing high-quality, age-worthy wines with a strong emphasis on tradition and craftsmanship. Founded 1890, in Haro (Rioja Alta sub-region), by five Basque and Rioja families, the winery has over 400 hectares of estate-owned vineyards. The winemaking involves traditional long aging in American oak barrels (many made in their own cooperage), with an emphasis on terroir-driven Tempranillo with Graciano and Garnacha for complexity.
