Founded by Étienne de Montille of Burgundy and Rodolphe Péters of Champagne, racines applies Old World technique to california terroir, fermenting with roughly 50% whole clusters and pigéage before 17 months in French oak barriques.
"Bright red-toned fruit, minerals, crushed rocks, white pepper and iron all race across the palate," notes Vinous, calling it "a potent, searing wine." Decanter adds: "Uplifting aromas of ripe forest fruits, dried herbs and a hint of sweet spice... elegant with Pacific freshness on the finish."
