Bodega Cerrón's La Calera del Escaramujo is sourced from a pre-phylloxera 1942 Monastrell vineyard at 960 metres in Jumilla, fermented with indigenous yeast, 10% whole clusters, and aged 14 months in large used barrels — unfined and unfiltered. Scoring an extraordinary 98 points from Robert Parker, this Monastrell wine is hailed for its precision, mineral depth, and purity.
The nose offers dark plum, wild herbs, and crushed limestone. The palate is tense, layered, and long — a true collector's wine.
