Planted in 2000 in a stunning bowl-shaped Yamhill-Carlton site at elevations of 525–750 feet, Kalita Vineyard is one of Sokol Blosser's most prized Oregon wine acquisitions — a LIVE-certified estate producing a distinctly darker, richer expression of Pinot Noir than their Dundee Hills bottlings. Rated 93 points by the International Wine Report and 93 points by Wine Enthusiast, the 2023 vintage is crafted through hand-harvesting, ambient fermentation in stainless steel, and 10 months in French oak with 20% new oak — a process that builds depth and structure while retaining the vineyard's natural vitality.
The 2023 Kalita pours a deep ruby with an expressive nose of blackberry, black currant, fresh blossom, and subtle chocolate, leading to a big, rich palate of dark cherry, baking spice, and minerality with well-integrated tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
