Alheit Vineyards 'Hereafter Here' 2023 is a compelling expression of Western Cape Chenin Blanc from young, carefully selected vines across Swartland, Piekenierskloof, Paardeberg and Tygerberg — sites chosen purely for quality, laying the groundwork for future greatness.
Handpicked, sorted in the vineyard, whole-bunch pressed with zero additions, wild fermented in old barrels over two months, then lees-aged 12 months in barrel followed by a further six months in tank — unfined, unfiltered. The nose is pure and inviting — yellow plum, pear, beeswax and crushed stone. The palate is bright, savoury and electric — grapefruit peel, stem ginger and a long, mineral-driven finish that captures the unmistakable soul of South Africa's Western Cape.
