Domaine Jean-Michel Gérin crafts Les Grandes Places from 100% old-vine Syrah on micaschist soils, aged 22 months in French oak for depth and structure. Rated 96–98 by Vinous and widely acclaimed as one of Côte-Rôtie's most precise and sumptuous wines, it seduces with aromas of blackberry, candied violet, cocoa, and incense.
The palate is rich, dense, and silky with concentrated dark fruit, pepper, and graphite. The finish is long, mineral, and exceptionally elegant. A collector's Côte-Rôtie wine.
