Cabernet Franc makes up 90% of Jonata El Alma de Jonata 2020, with 10% Merlot completing the blend. The estate’s rolling Ballard Canyon vineyards contain high concentrations of Careaga sand, while this release gives Cabernet Franc an especially prominent role.
Scoring it 97+ points, Jeb Dunnuck describes “brilliant darker cherry and currant fruits, notes of chocolate and violets, medium to full body, a pure, precise mouthfeel, and ripe tannins.” Herbal nuances add another layer to its concentrated fruit and defined structure.
